Kemwel is an independent car rental consolidator based in Portland, Maine, USA, with access to over 750,000 vehicles in Europe and worldwide from over 4,000 pick-up locations.
The company originated in 1908 as a parking garage in New York City, but became a Studebaker dealer, then, finally in 1958, a Mercedes-Benz dealer. That is the addition of a Mercedes line that encourages its owners to branch out into rented vehicles. Due to Mercedes's insistence that buyers come to a factory in Germany to buy a vehicle at a discount, once arriving there, customers usually have to wait while the vehicle is under construction. Most of these clients need transportation, so the idea of ​​developing into a car rental is born and implemented.
In 2001, Kemwel moved to Portland, Maine. It is the brother company of Auto Europe.
Kemwel is focusing now on cheap car rentals and students, short-term Peugeot car rentals, and budget airline tickets.
