Drug association
Tinnie is a colloquial term created for marijuana shoots wrapped in aluminum foil (usually about 1g) sold illegally in New Zealand. The most popular rates and currency forms used instead of tinnies are 20 dollar bills, though these may vary depending on quantity, weight, area and vendor. Tinnies are often criticized even by ordinary marijuana consumers, terms and sales that are usually only common in the more violent areas of cities and towns.
