Histori
Built in 1963 as The Madison Hotel, the hotel was opened by President John F. Kennedy. This hotel has hosted every President of the United States since then. It was managed by the Loews hotel chain for many years until 2010, when it was sold. In 2012 the hotel completed a $ 22 million renovation project to improve its living room, lobby, restaurant and bar. Shortly thereafter, Loews Corp bought the hotel in December 2012 and rejoined the Loews chain in January 2013.
In September 2017, Loews sold the hotel to Walton Street Capital for $ 72.5 million. The actual selling price, reportedly Washington Business Journal , is likely to be much higher as the sale of the building does not include the price of intangible assets. Walton Street Capital hires Hilton & amp; The resort to manage the hotel, which is now branded as Hilton. The Rural Society, the hotel's Argentine steak house, is permanently closed.
