David Reed Bromstad (born August 17, 1973) is an American television designer and personality. In 2006, he became the winner of the debut season of HGTV Design Star . She is the host of her own TV show, Splash Color with David Bromstad, who debuted in March 2007 at HGTV and Miami Color Splash on HGTV which debuted in 2010. He also hosts the HGTV's Dreamhouse Lottery , where he helps lottery winners find their real estate property dreams.

Early life and education
Bromstad was born as the youngest of four siblings to Diane Marlys Bromstad (Krueger) and Richard Harold David Bromstad in Cokato, Minnesota. Her mother is of Swedish and German descent and her father is of Norwegian descent. He has three older siblings, Dean Richard Bromstad, Dynelle Renee Bromstad, and Dyonne Rachael Bromstad. He was always interested in art and design, and while attending Wayzata High School made the decision to pursue a career as a Disney animator. He attended Ringling College of Art and Design in Sarasota, Florida, a school known as a starting point for a career with Disney. After graduation, he worked as a Disney illustrator.

Careers
After being dismissed as a Disney illustrator, Bromstad started his own company, Bromstad Studio, designing a fantasy bedroom for children. At the urging of a friend, Bromstad moved to Miami Beach and tried for HGTV's
Bromstad became a guest on the second season of HGTV Design Star, appearing as a guest-judge in the first episode and giving moral support to the finalists in "Challenge 7: Island Dreams".
She donated weekly blogs on HGTV.
In 2008 Bromstad became the spokesperson for Mythic Paint. He is also a fan of brands for Miele's home appliances.
He has three shows at HGTV: HGTV Design Star , where he became mentor of Season 6, and hosted Season 7; HGTV's Beach Flip ; and HGTV My Dream Home Lottery .
She currently has a line of furniture and home accessories available through Grandin Road, which is owned by HSNi (Home Shopping Network).
