My Scene - Barbie Wave 1 / First Edition 2002 - Doll Review - YouTube
src: i.ytimg.com

My Scene is a series of American fashion dolls made by Mattel in 2002. The Mattie's Barbie character is one of the puppets in the My Scene line, and the My Scene doll has a slim body similar to a Barbie doll before but with a head the greater one. The New York Times describes their features as "luminous and prominent lips, makeup." My scene is designed to appeal to the tween market and compete with Bratz dolls from MGA Entertainment. The series initially consists of three female characters, but is expanded to eventually include ten different dolls.

Dolls

The puppet series My Scene was first introduced in the fall of 2002, before Diva Starz, to compete with the Bratz dolls. Initially including three dolls: Barbie, Madison, and Chelsea, with various ethnicities and personalities, and 2 additional modes for each character. Characters (except Barbie) are named after different locations in New York City. More dolls were finally added to the series, starting with in 2003 with Nolee, and three male characters, Bryant, River, and Hudson. Delancey and Ellis premiered on the "Hanging Out" line, which debuted in late 2003. Kenzie debuted on "Getting Ready Line" in 2004 and Nia debuted in 2008. There are seven characters in the My Scene series (Kennedy, Madison, Chelsea ). , Delancey, Nia, Hudson, and River), six discontinued characters (Barbie, Nolee, Kenzie, Bryant, Ellis, and Sutton) and four special edition dolls (Lindsay, Jai, Tyson and Ryan). Every girl My Scene (and three boys) have pets.

The women's dolls have unbending belly button moldings and share new face prints that move small noses, wide cheekbones, and pouty big lips. In a few lines (starting with "Night in the City") dolls have deep-rooted eyelashes and shimmering eyes. Like Bratz, these dolls have big shoes that serve as legs, but they also have traditional Barbie legs and are able to wear regular Barbie shoes. The men's dolls also share exclusive facial prints, with body prints from male dolls before. In 2004, new smiling face prints were produced for male and female characters. It was only present for a while on the female dolls, but the man dolls were made with this mold until early 2005. Starting with the "Birthday Club" line, their face prints turned into non-smiling prints that looked more like "Bratz Boyz" doll rows. In late 2005, a line called 'My Bling Bling' was released. The dolls were seen wearing shorter clothes and knee-length shoes with leggings. Most parents think this doll is too 'obscene' for children. This line also introduces a new face print in which the doll has more detailed make-up and eyes staring forwards. In mid-2006, Barbie was replaced by another character named Kennedy who had the same features as her. She has replaced Barbie's girlfriend and pet. Kennedy first appeared in the line of 'Fab faces/expressions'. Starting with the 2006 "Swappin 'Styles" line, two new face prints have been produced for female dolls - one feature a half-open smiling mouth, and another new feature, smirking grinning mouth. This line also saw the return of the smiling face print "Get ready". In 2007, a rather controversial puppet line was launched titled, "Growing Up Glam", and by turning the key on the back of the doll, you can make it start growing taller and start growing breasts, similar to the famous "Grow Up Skipper" Dolls Barbie. Mattel stopped selling dolls in the US in 2008, but they continued to release dolls in other countries, until Mattel stopped production on track in 2011, although the website did not close until 2014.

Bratz lawsuit

On April 13, 2005, the competing Mattel toy company, MGA Entertainment filed a lawsuit against My Scene, accused of duplication of its Bratz doll, multi-ethnic appearance, fashion and packaging. The lawsuit further accused Mattel of "engaging in unfair competition and intellectual property violations intended to undermine his market share, confusing consumers and trading goodwill." Then in 2006, Mattel sued MGA Entertainment, alleging that the creators of Bratz, Carter Bryant worked for Mattel when he developed the idea for Bratz in 1999, and have taken the idea to MGA secretly. MGA developed a first-generation fashion doll while obscuring Bryant's involvement. MGA toy makers are seeking $ 1 billion in damages that testify that Mattel violates antitrust laws.

Movies and Web series

Started in 2003 with "Hanging Out", the dolls began packed with DVDs that contained short video clips, music, and activities. It started a trend that triggered three movies My Scene , all of which have been aired on the Nickelodeon cable channel. The My Scene line feature also features four special edition dolls that only exist in the movie My Scene. These include Jamaican-American Jai and Tyson from Jammin in Jamaica and Lindsay Lohan and Ryan Ridley from My Scene Goes Hollywood. Mattel received a special right to create Lindsay Lohan's only likeness for the line. Ryan Ridley is a fictional character created for the film.

Movies

3 The film comes from Lionsgate

My Scene: Jammin 'in Jamaica is the first My Scene movie, released on DVD in early 2004 and sold with the doll "Jammin' in Jamaica". The film is directed by Eric Fogel, creator of Celebrity Deathmatch. Madison is the manager of a band called Urban Desire, which consists of four male characters. When the band won the contest, they traveled to Jamaica for the final, but Barbie, Nolee, and Chelsea had to raise money to travel to Jamaica. After all the characters arrived in Jamaica, Barbie felt abandoned as her boyfriend, the lead guitarist, started spending more time with Madison. This causes a rift between friends but is ultimately resolved.

My Scene: Masquerade Madness is the second My Scene movie, released on DVD, runs 28 minutes, half long Jammin 'in Jamaica . The film is centered around the Masquerade Madness fashion show, raising funds for local animal shelters. Chelsea designed clothing for the show itself, causing tension in her school. Failed in geometry and too embarrassed to tell his friends, he asks Hudson for help in tutoring. As a result, his friends begin to think they are secretly dating. In the end, Chelsea have got a geometry test and coordinate a successful fashion show. The film was sold with a doll of My Scene "Masquerade Madness".

My Scene Goes Hollywood is the third My Scene movie, released on DVD, first sold separately from the doll and the only full-length movie. The film was directed by Eric Fogel and distributed by Miramax Family Films. It featured voice-over by actress Lindsay Lohan, who played alone in the movie. Kelly Sheridan of the Barbie movie series takes over the role of Barbie. To see it up close, My Scene girls pretend to be extra players in action films filmed in New York. When one of the actresses gets hurt, Madison is called in to replace her. He started spending less time with his friends and developing a crush on the lead actor, Ryan Ridley. Madison ended up fighting with her friends because they embarrassed her. In the end, Lindsay Lohan convinces Madison that friends are the most important thing to have, and the girls make up. Although the title suggests a trip to Hollywood, California, the whole movie actually takes place in New York.

He may be the happiest when he's behind the camera, because he likes to document every moment. She is marketed as Nolee's girlfriend. It is rumored he was created to look like Justin Guarini's runner-up American Idol. More recently, an identical character in appearance with Bryant is featured in a webisode on the Kennedy veranda. He was not supposed to be a Bryant, but a rock star who went to school with Kennedy in Hollywood. Bryant was named after Bryant Park New York. Bryant was discontinued in 2003.
