Top Contractor Reports 100 are lists developed annually by the U.S. General Service Administration. as part of US federal government procurement tracking.
In fiscal 2013, the federal government aims to source 23% of all subcontracts from small businesses with guidance from the Small Business Administration. The federal government was unable to meet this goal in 8 years until FY2013 when it subcontracted more than $ 83 billion from small businesses.
The fiscal year 2015 marks some historic accomplishments; the federal government has exceeded its overall target of 23% by 2.75% resulting in $ 90.7 billion in grants to small businesses, 5.05% ($ 17.8 billion) used for women's small businesses (WOSB) fulfilling its purpose for the first time since it was implemented in 1996.
The top five counties by the dollars required by 2015 are the Department of Defense ($ 212.5 billion), the Department of Energy ($ 23 billion), Health and Human Services ($ 21 billion), the Veterans Affairs Department ($ 20 billion), and NASA ($ 13 billion)).
